She had a sister Mary, the daughter of the first wife of Henry VIII. Elizabeth was her successor. But Mary Queen of Scots was someone altogether different.

They were half-sisters. Henry VIII was father to both of them, but they had different mothers. Mary's mother was Catherine of Aragon. Elizabeth's was Anne Boleyn.
