OK. You're joking. Just making sure. That's pretty creepy.

The wedding was very avant-garde, with nude bridesmaids, and most people in black body suits. The dancing consisted of mostly rolling on the floor and flinging hands upward with fearful expressions on our faces.

How could you dance to this? I don't even think I could WALK to it.

My wife and I danced to this at our wedding.

This is one of the greatest music works ever created. If your ears cannot listen this, it's because you dont have enough knowledge and sensitivity in this estetic form, it's not your fault, even for a professional musician iy's difficult to understand this kind of music. This is a Masterpiece.

Try writing something pretty and 'integrated' when you are in a prisoner of war camp, trying to portray the atrocities that happened there every day. I think that it's trying to show you a time and place which is disintegrated and nihilistic, and does so beautifully.

you ought to listen to the piece multiple times, paying attention to each individual instrument, then the cathexus that binds the entirety of the work together. Ear browsing is not appropriate for Messiaen; you will miss just about everything going on if you judge his work on a first time, superficial basis.

Well, this piece is actually about what he heard at concentration camp early in the morning. I think that's why you can't hear any melody there. :)

There is actually a lot of elaborate structure at work in this piece. Each instrument is operating on an entirely different level of time and pulse, so that the overall effect is that the sense of time has been suspended. What makes it great, in my opinion, is how well it does this. His harmonic style comes from the fact that he had synasthesia, meaning that when he heard sounds or harmonies, he would literally see a full spectrum of colors associated with each sound. But that's just me.
