Tower Of Power jams. Their brassy-reedy-rich grooves, their tight-and-right turns, their bleeding ballads and orchestral funk are monuments to the enduring stature of soul. Their vibe is contagious, happy, life-asserting, a wondrous celebration of good feeling and positive sentiment

Yeah, but an entire horns section would have to be psychic to spontaneously think up the same exact chord progression.

why would that be? if u have a chord progress than u can improvise on any instrument. am i wrong?

I,ve been playin harmonica to this tune for 22 years and sounds as good as the day it was concieved sax-da-funk-da-fecta

Well yeah, but I'd imagine it's impossible to improvise in a horns' section though, because they would practically have to be psychic to play the same notes.

TOP's great calling is that they are so tight. You get "tight" with improvisational jams.

That was Lenny Pickett with the funky footwork, I believe.

Love this scene of the summer tree. Reminds me of 1969. Takin time to look at a tree and the natural world.
