It was great for her (she got to sing some fantastic songs) and it was great for him - nobody has sung his songs better! Much as I love RT's subsequent work I don't think he has ever written such beautiful melodies as he did when he was with Linda (Walking on a Wire, Dimming of the Day etc). Largely I suspect because he knows the limitations of his own voice.

I just don't like her voice. She sounds alright on the albums, but she's just not my cup of tea. I realize most RT fans like her, but I guess I'm one of the odd ones who love his first solo album and think he could have done better without Linda. Remember that he did gain more attention at the end of their relationship. ;)

Weird. Are you kidding me? You don't like songs like "For shame of doing wrong?" I've never heard ANYONE say they didn't adore her voice.

Though I normally can't stand Linda, this is the only songs I can listen to her on. Of course, since the songs are mostly written by RT, I think they're all brilliant.

I much prefer this to the album version! Great vocal harmonies from Richard
