When you look at prices for homes in the area I'm in, it's a good idea. On my "average" income I can't get a loan for anything even close to what a "cheap" house around here goes for. To get to my price range, it'd take me over 2 hours to get to work and then the busses don't run that early or that late. Something worth looking into, I think. I like the monthly price they mentioned in the clip!

Shipping container homes (ISBU) have become a very big trend and a home that is built using ISBU's has a very comfortable quiet feeling that is difficult to describe. The new eco insulations for them stop any metallic echo or vibrations. Check out the website at ISBU Association to see other designs.

what if something about the house isn't absolutely perfect? then what will you do?

Yes I want to build a dome home and use containers to add to the home for lesser priced space. Sleep in the dome section have the living room there too but use containers for other rooms game room craft room office space there is so much you can add for a couple grand. My climate is great most of the year our summers are too hot but the rest of the year we rarely use heating or cooling. Do it right you could radiant heat a container if you need to.

i've just started looking into this, and MAN it's getting my brain going.it would make an amazing house (just look at some on here) and STRONG tooand you're not limited to the dimensions either, cut out a wall and make a huge living roomreally cool stuff that i'd like to look into using when I decide to get a house

I wouldn't want THEIR design, but people make them into REALLY nice places, they hook them together and take out walls and make them into HUGE living areas and the only way you could tell it was made with shipping containers is you'd walk outside
