if this bitch is so touchy about a person asking her for a toast, she should find a job that doesn't involve working with ppl

PROOF that she is obeying her bosses rules....at .53 on the clip she states "I don't make the rules"....so how much more clear could it be that SHE IS FOLLOWING MANAGEMENTS RULES.

OBVIOUSLY her boss wishes it....do you think she makes up a different rule for each customer? I once had a boss ream me out for giving a customer something worth 50 cents that the customer thought they should have gotten free. And do you know what my boss said to me. This is a "management decision and you have no athority to do that". Have you "ever" worked this type of job?

I do get it very much so. There is no indication in the movie of her boss' wishes. Her body behavior indicates lack of creativity and intelligence as well as common sense. I am done with this discussion as I think you and I are very different people with different views..

you don't "get it" she is an employee. If she goes against her bosses wishes she can be fired and at her age they are probably looking for a reason to get rid of her.

I believe in Law Enforcement and enforcing the laws and rules but when it comes to business establishments "customer is always right". This means that unless the customer is asking for something for free employees should do their best to accomodate the customer. This is especially true during these economical tough times. If I owned that restaurant and waited on Jack in that scene I would use my common sense..

Trust me, first time I saw "Five Easy Pieces" it was 15 years ago and first time I watched Jack in a "Chinatown", it was 20 years ago. His character he is playing in this movie has everything to do with how he is in real life. Obivously you need to do more reading about Jack..

to neoncherry: I worked in retail for 33 years and here is how I view Nicholsons "character" in this movie....A rude self centered person with no compassion for a low paid waitress that is only following her bosses rules in order to keep her job. Rules are made to in order to keep a business smooth running and cost effective. If he wants toast he should keep a loaf of bread and a cigarette lighter with him at all times. |
