Hey man, I saw the same funnel cloud from further away. Was this the one that only took the roof off a garden shed or something like that on a farm?

I have no clue, I never did do any research on it. But it could be. From what I remember the plane was not very low at all. Maybe someone knows about the approach altitude. I estimate it to be about 1KM in the air passing the boat. It was something else seeing the water spout appearing like that.

very interesting. does it have to do with the fact that you get blown away if a big plane (like boeing 747) takes off in front of you?

A few months ago I was fishing off a boat and there was this loud jet-like sound and a water spout surfaced right next to the boat. Then it went away. A few more *maybe 4* showed up again. then I realized that every time a plane past (747 type thing) it somehow influence the weather and waterspout would spring up. So the boat move away from the incoming planes landing at the airport.

I have seen only one of these in person, watching a storm from my porch about two years ago. Quite a sobering sight.
