I was 14 in 1972 - and my father intoduced me to this stuff- and others.... but Kenton was and is so special....words are difficult but feelings remain and Stan was so special - the music drags you from lethargy into overdrive.... thanks my friend .. BUT WHERE IS THE INCREDIBLE PIECE "AMBIVALENCE"?

however he never had a sound like this on those 78's he turned these bands loose in the lat 60s and into the 70s before he died.

nice to hear from another Kenton admirer. Yes those 78s still retain some magic in the sound dont they? Cant agree on Peanut Vendor for my wake-will settle for Kenton playing solo version of Artistry in Rhythm-never dates in hearing it.

I have to second your comment. This is my reason to hang onto all the 78's I have of the Kenton Band. Moments not all repeated on CD of which I have many. Now in my late 7o's music like this needs our support. When my time comes I would like to have Peanut Vendor playes at my wake. That should grab some attention?

Geweldig dat dit stuk nu op op youtupe staat. Heb al heel lang naar een cd met dit nr gezocht en niet gevonden. Nu dus wel. |
