Let me try to explain myself a bit more clearly. You speak the truth, but not entirely. It is true no one now is responsible for the past, but to apologize to those whose ancestors were affected means that we acknowledge what had happened, and we want to live in peace and strive for a better future. That's what it all boils down to; acknowledgment of the past mistakes, and to strive for unity. Make sense?
