Montage of clips of the F-22 airshow demo including cobras, backflips, super-high-alpha flight, the Raptor hovering with its nose pointed straight up, some super-fast pitch-ups, and some "vapor" (sonic shock condensation cones and wingtip vortex contrails) at the very end. Sweet, sweet stuff. As we know, the F-22 is pretty much invisible in the battlefield (in simulated wargames, F-22 pilots always kill everyone else before being detected), has the fastest cruise speed of any airplane currently flying (MACH 1.5-1.75 depending on whom you ask), is powerful enough to break the sound barrier while flying straight up in a vertical climb while fully loaded, and is extremely advanced in how it manages, shares, and integrates information and presents it to the pilot. This weekend, the USAF has allowed one more thing about the F-22 to be shown to the public: its maneuvering capabilities. This video is a montage of clips from the F-22's first full tactical airshow demo (performed in Langley this weekend by Major Paul Moga) plus a few other F-22 clips from YouTube. I don't think I need to tell you that no American fighter has ever enabled a pilot to do these kinds of aerobatics:

em745aa, the Brit that was quoted was referring to exercises at Nellis. There may not have, necessarily, been any Typhoons at DM during that reunion. ;)Maybe we could ask him what time the reunion was scheduled to start in the O-Club? That might weed out someone who is BSing. Need details on that, PM me, because I won't post them here. Heh...you never know, the guy posting on that forum may come to this video a lot. ;)

Well, so far the guys at F-16. net seem to be taking the account at face value (though there are no definitive confirmations/denials from any of the AF regulars, as I would've hoped). And like I told 4Skunky, there's nothing in "drgondog's" statement that raises any BS alarms (at least, not IMHO).It would be nice if someone could confirm the presence of EFs at DM during that time frame. That would go a long way in verifying the story.

Yup, just checked it out. I'm not sure if the claim is legitimate or not, but that, combined with info that was posted on F16[dot]net seem logical. Its EXACTLY the kind of fight the F-22 was designed for. I know that there have been Typhoons at Nellis for some time, so anything is possible. The most recent exercises conducted there, involving Typhoons, were CAS exercises though.

Su 37 = typical russian junk aircraft. russia military = outdated, rusted away for 10 years and poorly trained.USAF has twice the number of combat aircraft russia does LOL.

Su37rulez, how, exactly do you think a Kobra is useful as anything but an airshow maneuver?Nice name, BTW. What does it "rule", exactly? You DO realize that no more Su-37s are flying, do you not? The VISTA/MATV F-16 is STILL the record-holder for max sustained and instantaneous Alpha, and could probably fly circles around the Su-37...oh...but there's that little, nagging detail again. Its not in service either, just like your Su-37.
Su37rulez (September 6, 2008 at 1:46 am)
Ok,first:It's written-maneuverability/manoeuvrability!Second,where's Cobra!?I don't know if you know how the original Cobra is performed, and that is when the plane is pulled to >90 degrees of the original position, and the tail is supposed to come to front, while the jet itself does NOT climb, but stands at the same altitude.Because lol anything can do THAT-what's shown in the video.Thirdly, there is no such thing as "stealth",so saying "As we know, the F-22 is pretty much invisible" is incorrect.

Perhaps you should talk to American pilots, like I have. Avionics and BVR... American technology is state of the art. ACM is not as cut and dried.
