It doesn't matter how long you study - if you don't intend to think like a budoka, you will never become one. I'd consider it sad if learning a martial art without also the needed mental discipline was *my* intention...

i call them chux for shorti mean no disrespect whatsoever i will call them by their proper name occasionally but sometimes i just feel like calling them chux.

If you don't call nunchaku by their correct name, you will never get anywhere - it is only respectful. I have very little experience with weapons, since I am just the editor and poster of these clips, but the title Shihan means master, and tends to be bestowed on those who have honor, respect, and knowledge beyond others - I have seen experienced sensei who are decades from that level of ability.

These are of my sensei - I am a student. We start with bo before going on to nunchaku, then sai. Don't get a kama until you have learned the more basic (less sharp-edged) weapons.

Thank you for all the Kama videos. I study Shaolin Kempo (I'm currently Blue Belt) and I just started using Kama as my main weapon for my Demo Team, so these are very helpful with Kata ideas.
