Yes ..Scandal was lose based film on Profumo affair. However, this song and video was out prior to 1988 film. Many presume it was Bryan's reponse to Jerry Hall's book Tale Tales, talking about her prior relationships, which included Bryan Ferry. But was the woman insane?? How could you give up Bryan for Mick????

I am quite familiar with the Profumo affair , have read & researched much about it & I was around at the time & I'm British ! Yes I believe you're right about this song allegedly being a response to her book revealing details about their relationship . Whatever the reason it was released , it's a great song in my opinion .

My definition of hooker would be to your comment of Christine Keeler defined as a prostitute..but I won't argue with you. Check your history on Profumo affair. As to this this song, MANY critics have stated this was Bryan's tongue in cheek response to Jerry's tell all book on her relationships prior to and in conjuction with Mick Jagger...but I won't argue with you.

Well maybe your definition of hooker is different to mine but I'm not going to argue about it ! I'm aware this song wasnt about her , " Nothing has been proved " by Dusty Springfield & Pet Shop Boys was about the Profumo affair . Agree with you totally about Jerry Hall giving up Bryan Ferry for Mick Jagger , the woman's mad !!!

Christine Keeler was not a hooker. Yes she was absolute involved in Profumo affair due to her ambitions. This song was not about her rather Jerry Hall. She sold her outrelationships with Bryan and/or Mick Jagger in "Tall Tales". Oh well as the saying goes, you reap what you sow. Please help me to understand how you give up Bryan Ferry-so gorgeous- for wrinkled Mick???

I agree with Derekmimi. American music is crap!!! Is Bryan Ferry a turn-on or what? I love this album. The video for "The Right Stuff" is better. This is good though.
