That's not true! Most of American journalists admitted years later that count of 14 seconds!!! You can never count up to 9, because there is a cut in the film!!!

ok this is all real and he wasnt punched outa the ring he was more pushed out. also boxing rules where different back then now days boxing isnt as hard core as it used to be old time boxing was more hardcore then ufc fights. hell they used to not even wear gloves till the 20s

Look at Firpo's right that PUSHES Dempsey out of the ring.Dempsey was back in at the count of 9.The journalists acted in self defense; they simply wanted Dempsey off them!Look at the film again: Dempsey did not STAND OVER Firpo "everytime." Often, and Firpo was down often, Dempsey's walking away and Firpo rises. Then Dempsey resmes his attack. The better figher won. Hardly anyone who knows boxing disputes that.

After getting sent out of the ring by Firpo, people outside the ring with stop watches had counted 14 SECONDS when Dempsey had finally stood up again. Which should've been a victory of Firpo by knockout.Also, Dempsey received help from journalists to get back on the ring, which goes against the rules.Dempsey everytime stood directly over Firpo, while he was down, in violation of the rules while the ref began the count.
