Mel Tillis wrote the song, but I don't think i've heard a better interpretation than this. What a good looking man, and what a voice. Great guitar player too. But it's too bad the bass player didn't know the song!

Stinkin' AWESOME. If it hadn't been for the Long Ryders' cover of the GP cover if this song, I'd have never been intro'd to real country music. When I was 16, all the old-school country stars were making the most shit-awful music of their careers (think Kenny & Dolly singing Islands in the Stream). This stuff was utterly unknown to my generation, much to it's detriment. Long live Waylon.
