Saw this in the theater when it played here in Tokyo. Sadly.. not really a horror; more of an origin drama focusing one domestic abuse, teen angest, bullying, and along the way the origin of Kuchisake Onna (slit mouthed woman). That long bout of footage you see in the trailer with the girl in the rain standing blood soaked is the last shot of the film. The girl doesn't actually become Slit Mouthed woman until the last few minutes of the movie. The film is nicely shot though.

I just got a new theory last night after I watched this for the secong time. I think that girl. The one with the scar is probably Mika(is it the real name?) from the first fil. And the soul of the Slit-Mouthed Woman possesed her. It's just a theory.

People said Carved wasy really bad, but it wasn't the worst I've seen. This one looks like it will ignore the first film though, so I don't understand why they are calling it Carved 2.

Oh come on, they make an American version it'll be pg13 and have a happy mooshy ending like always..Aka, they'll make it corny as hell..Haha.. Hell.. Get it?Horror movies? Hell?>.>You wanna ruin this good movie too? =/...It just seems scarier in the Jap versions, don't you think? :II think its scarier cause I can't understand what they're saying, so..Yeah..XDD

not really because the grudge and the ring is aren't legends unlike the slit-mouth women. The slit-mouth women is Japanese legend if it were made in english not many people would watch it anyway. In Japan they would kno teh background of the story.
