He was on downers.I just read an interview with him. He said the same thing you did. Now he's smoke and wine free. Voice isn't as deep as it was, but now he can hit some of the higher notes. Also used to talk to daisies while on acid.Great interview. can't wait for next CD/DVD.

this guy is fucking brilliant,it's so mesmorising, why? I don't know,Have a look at artists who mix poetry with music like Captain Beefheart,Lou Reed and David Bowie there all geniouses in their own right.

I strongly suggest that you read an entire comment, before launching into a hateful rant. As to emulating the guitar prowess of Mr. Cohen, I could have done that at 12, in fact, I did. So what?I further suggest that you listen to his entire back catalogue, until you purge yourself of this hostility. Consider it a prescription, it works wonders.

"couldn't play guitar to save his life".You are a total f***wit. A cretin.I could go on, but you're not worth the effort. I suggest you try and emulate him with a guitar. Jeez, what a moron!!!

It's odd. The man can't sing, couldn't play guitar to save his life. And yet...I have almost his entire catalog of recordings. I'll be the first in my town to get his new CD. I'll drag my family to see him in concert, if we're so lucky. I pay rapt attention to every word. And will be saddened when he no longer performs. And will think the World is a slightly better place for the being of this man, who can't sing, or play guitar that well. But, oh, can he write. How odd.
