Tuning: FACFCFDavid Essig's comments on this tune:"I wrote the piece to honour the memory of my mother, Doris Hinkins, who came from the small town of Berkley Springs, West Virginia. I originally wrote it in DADGAD and recorded it that way on the first album I issued as a CD in 1988: Morning Calm. That's where Don Ross first encountered it I believe. He may have also heard me play it live, since we used to do some gigs together back in Ontario and at some Canadian festivals.Don transposed the piece into F tuning which enables him to play some interesting chord inversions.
