generally...some are made without adjustments dowels on the base side.......don't ask why!as for the high pitch tone......try tuining it to high c(or sa). If that doesn't work.....then it depends on the size of the tall side.

I bought my Tabla in Bangalore while I was there a few years ago and really appreciate your video!! One question - I do not have the wood dowels in my large Tabla, should I? I also do not get that twang or really nice high tone on my smaller Tabla - how do I get that sound? THANKS!!!!
