De Niro and Pacino are not greatest or best actors by any means. Both sure were great in 70's and early 80's flicks with versatile performances, but they are way overrated by now. For last 20 years or so De Niro & Pacino have been mainly "acting" themselves. They are not even especially charismatic(De Niro is actually a rather dull) persons, so it's more like boring to watch the same uninspiring performance in almost every role of their later careers. "Heat" is a good movie anyway :)
