You don't get their idea. you said it yourself, when you're in an indie label you don't get the chance to get to a lot of ppl ("famous" as you said), and Andrew said they want to reach to as many people as they can with their music. you don't get that when you're an indie band. Arctic Monkeys was a phenomenon, I don't think it'll happen again with another band on an indie label.

indie labels are played out?... the rolling stones weren't an indie band? maybe because they were in a different time... maybe today, with the internet, you don't need a major label controlling you... maybe there is a whole world of musicians out there who are just as good as mgmt but are not known because they don't care about money... moving on.
