Yeah it opens up a double attack and white loses all benefits of the rapid development and is down a lot of material in the opening.

Qxg4 ...d5

Um... Maybe I'm wrong, but why not, after Ng4, Qxg4... the knight is a hanging piece, and it allows development of the queen...

Can you tell me what progrem are you using for the game?
Belacqua17 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
also, Nc3 to block the bishop check is not necessarily the best option, as it blocks whites dark square bishop
Belacqua17 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
in that variation white plays Qxg4

It's not a blunder, and part of a book line variation. The BF7+ has possibilities also, but white loses more material and doesn't gain a significant benefit in positional strength.

1)Robi,please correct the blunder you have made in the description in the 1st part of this video..that of recommending Ng4 for Black as a "book line" -Now,after Black plays Ng4(minute 2.12 ofthe video), White can play Bishop * F7 check !

Oh shoot! I wish Amer were still alive! He used to play the Danish a lot. He WAS aggressive, the lil beggar! Pakistani, and learned big time from his Dad who had also played against Alekhine! Amer was a great friend and excellent chess player! But he was so hooked on that Danish! HA! I would have loved to show him the other...my own game a way more conservative reply. I try to transpose too much, sometimes. And while it's actually easy to transpose into different lines? It doesn't always win.

Sorry i meant 5 Bb4 check...after Nc3, Nc6.....Qb3 is met by Qe7, guarding the black bishop, attacking the E4 pawn and preparing Na5...if 7 Qd5 i think and improvent over Qe7 is Qf6!,attacking the pinned knight and bishop . After Ne2, covering the pinned knight Black can play Ne2! threatening Whites queen and making ready to castle. Even an attempt to open the g pawn and expose the rook to the fianchettoed bishop can be met with Qe7 by Black. That being said, if White takes time to play Nf3 |
