Diane Edwards actually went to high school with one of the guys in Husker Du. It's a very personal song written from the killer's perspective.The cover is pretty inferior.

Diane is not just art imitating reality. It´s based on fakts. In the early 80th a jung girl, named Diane Edwards, was raped and murdered and Husker Du wrote a macabre song about her death! Rest in peace, DIANE!
