At this point in our modern political climate, to be optimistic - period - is to be idealistic.

So basically your telling me hes an anarchist? Thats what it seems like your telling me...fill me in more of exactly what you mean. I mean we need the kind of government as listed in the Constitution, one that is able to promote laws and protect its citizens.

Mr. Chomsky is a Libertarian in the original sense of the word. His meaning of the word implies the destruction of all social, political and economic hierarchies, where everyone would have equal access to the government. The Libertarian party differs from this in that they believe in less regulations and, thus, a strict social and economic hierarchy.

I know what Socialism is, but where does Libertarion come into all this?? Libertarion is all about almost complete individual freedom, any amount of socialism takes individual freedom. Libertarion socialism makes no sense

Socialism and libertarian are not opposites. If you say so, i´m sure that you are us-american. Socialism is a movement much wider than Stalin and Lenin (who founded the soviet communism, totally criticize by libertarian socialists! ). Libertarian socialism is the anarquist root of socialism (again, if you think that anarquism is a total lack of organization can only be, cause you´ve never read an anarquist text). I recomend you to read Daniel Guerin´s "Anarquism", to understand it. Take care

Naom says hes a liberatarion socialist i believe. Can someone tell me how someone can be a liberatarion or socialist at the same time? These are like opposites. Liberatarions want almost complete freedom from government, and socialists want strong government control. |
