just saw a documentary on it. there's not an much in Anwar as is thought. besides, any new wells would take 5 to 10 years to reack market and the effect on prices would be only pennies. besides, it seems every time hope is placed on finding new oil the move to alternative energy get back burnered to some degree. i'm all for US energy independence, but we must find things other than oil which will be finite regardless of how many wells are drilled.

I dont mind that you drill, its dangerous when you support mass drilling and cheap oil. havent you heard what WHO says? worldwide two million die each year cause of pollution. even in canadian rural areas thousands get sick on lungs. maybe you wouldnt need strong cars like SUVs, if you wouldnt be so obese.ride a bicycle or get a horse. oh, you cant cause then you will ruin your fancy armani dress, huh? well mongolians do this everyday. go and check their largest horse races.

So what's wrong with drilling on our own land? Taking responsibility for ourselves instead of relying on other countries to give us everything. These other countries are not responsible for keeping us in our huge SUVs and driving thousands of miles a month and using up billions upon billions of dollars of gas on our "I want it now" attitudes. Convenience isn't everything. I think this recession has proved that. |
