Buckley doesn't seem to have total control over where his jaw is moving. o_O

As for your blubbering about moral ethics being the cornerstone to legislation... Duh! At one time the moral ethical majority made it legal to own slaves. Good ole' highly moral and ethical christians lynching some 5000 people and not a one doing any time for murder. Many of your moral ethical "intentions" today will be overturned in the future as yet again, an unjust intrusion on civil liberty. I'm praying that knuckle dragging Scalia will die soon. How's that for morality jackass?

Seperation of church and state is derived from the first amendment you nut. The legislature can "make no law respecting an establishment of religion". An interpretation of this is by Thomas Jefferson: "building a wall of seperation between church and state". The supreme court has backed this interpretation many times. It's why you idiots failed with "intelligent design", ruled by a Bush appointee no less as "creationism". Ask the former school board of Dover PA how banning evolution went.

Hahaha, if you don't think our tax code is progressive enough please explain to me why 96% of the taxes paid in this country are paid by the top 50% of wage earners. Regarding your other statements, please name me the governmental document utters the phrase, "Separation of Church and State."... you can't because there is none.

Your post was obviously based on your belief (and most liberals belief) that we can't legislate morality. Therefore, I challenged you to name a part of our legal system that ISN'T based off what's morally correct.. and you failed. I subtly pointed out the fact that our ENTIRE legal system is rooted and based on what is morally/ethically sound. That's what justice is. Defense of the moral intentions of our legal code.

Buckley looks pretty queer himself and he's always sticking his reptilian tongue out. I think he escaped from the reptile house.

This actually looks dignified compared to today's cable "news" discussions.
willwkrueger (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
depends on how u construct ur ethical framework. ex. taxes buckley would say taxation is fundemantally immoral and should avoided or limited as much as possible because it infringes on indiv. liberty. vidal would say that equal libery demands a progressive tax scheme because the american dream of economic mobilty is not as much a reality for the impoverished element of the economic system; most wealth is held by the top 5 percent of the population. however, they'd both agree to end War on Drugs!

So what part of our judicial/legal system ISN'T based off of what's morally and ethically right? |
