There isn't a quintet in history, before or after this that will ever come close to what these five men created. There's one thing most musicians don't properly learn, and that's the imperativeness of TEAMWORK. Every musician, beginner to veteran, from Classical to Death Metal, needs to sit and liiisteeen to these guys. It's something you can't learn in school. It can only be taught by having open ears and an open mind.

Too bad we cannot re-create this period in the history of modern classical music, and Miles and Monk were at the avant guard of this movement. What a great loss for humanity!

Hi, this concert (among others!) was taped by the german tv-station swf. I'm trying to get them all broadcasted - not easy. Minority. But maybe one day you can see a lot of fine live work by miles and others here again!

Thee most fascinating thing about this tune is maybe that it's actually just a standard blues.
