I used the term "biblical scholars" to refer to scholars or historians who study the Bible. Even historians who didn't focus on the Bible agree that Jesus was a real historical figure. In any case, it's like the Theory of Evolution. Just because it's a "theory" with no absolute evidence doesn't mean that it isn't widely accepted to be true.No one ever said that Jesus was "just" a Jew. But he WAS a Jew, not a Christian. Calling him a Christian is just plain inaccurate.

I'm not brainwashed - I'm open to evidence but you have none, and unlike you, I don't follow any mullah so there really is no one TO brainwash me. Look at you, you can't even use English properly yet that does not keep you from acting arrogantly. Christ was certainly a Christian, the fact that he was born in a different religion is true for all people who brought new religious thought - not that it even matters.

Since no concrete evidence exists that Jesus ever existed, the beliefs of "biblical scholars", whatever that means since the bible is a book of myths, are just that...beliefs.Of course Christ was BORN a jew to a jewish mother, just as Buddha wasn't born Buddhist, Nanak wasn't born Sikh, and neither was any other person who established a new religion born in that religion. That does not mean, however, that they did not change. Christ was hardly "just a jew".

Alright, alright.. Im really not gonna make this conversation any further, cause you're brainwashed anyway and its really really hard to convince someone off his believe. I can just tell you, open a real book about history or whatever (and plEASE not bible, with all respect), and you will see, he was not a Christian, but a Jew. ;)

I never said irrefutable evidence exists. I said that it's largely undisputed that Jesus - as a historical figure - existed, which is true. Few scholars disbelieve his very existence. However, I'm not sure it's worth arguing with you, as you seem pretty uninformed. Jesus WAS a Jew. His followers, originally Jews, called him Christ, and later broke away from Judaism and called themselves Christians. Christianity didn't even exist during Jesus's lifetime. He was Jewish.

Danny here is a good sport for enduring Cohen's nonsensical interview. I used to think that the karate instructor handled him the best but Danny is just as cool.

Of course Christ was a Christian. Why do you think they call it CHRISTianity? He is it.
SSgtParmer (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
There is no need for a Jesus-as-myth hypothesis. It is up to the believers to prove such a person existed, but no irrefutable evidence exists.
PensieveScholar (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
SSgtParmer, almost all Biblical scholars and historians reject the Jesus-as-myth hypothesis. I can provide sources if you like.
