Everything in this recepi it's ok, but in my expirience is better mix the sugar whit the marshmallows in the same bowl, for don't make such a disaster in the table, then, when it is more solid, you can put it in the table and work it whit some sugar for don't stick it, and you must have your hands clean to work it easier. Trust me is easier, and the crisco, wathever that is, is not necesary.

coconut oil! They use it in indonesia for making fondant too.

you can use butter or marg. it's greasy enough, I've don't it when I was out of crisco and it worked just the same. Or any kind of hard veggy shortening will work.
