It makes strumming the strings easier. A lot of classical guitar players use that technique.

Very nice. My I played the guitar part for Winter Drumline and I had to learn it myself. Seeing you play it actually made me feel better....I know I know I was ALMOST right..:)

this is VERY impressive being an electric guitar player seeing classical guitarists go to work is always amazing. though queen always had classical roots in their music, so i can see where hes coming from

It is common practice for classical guitarists to grow their fingernails out on their right hand to improve their strumming/picking technique. You'll notice that the fingernails of his left hand are not long at all. Calling this gentleman's hands gay are an insult to his classical musician background. A pity you did no research before making your statement friend.
