You should use better stain. Sikkens is the best. I've been in our log home for eight years and we've never had problems with stain. We got our beautiful home from Golden Eagle Log Homes and we are very satisfied and taken care of.-Zach

I am thinking of renting a hydraulic lift to do my place as well. It's the north side of the house and doesn't see much sun or weather, so I won't have to do it often.Man, maintaining a log home sure is a lot of work!

Remeber, you get what you pay for. Would you let a mechanic do a heart transplant? Leave the skilled trades up to the professionals to get the job done right the first time so you dont' have to strip everything off like this guy had to on his home.

Great info. Have little experience with pressure washers and need to use one.

I haven't used a pressure washing machine and did not know it could damage the wood. Good advice and well done. Thanks.
