Padded or not, Boxers these days cannot take a punch even with bigger gloves there not even close in the same league of taking a punch like these old timers.Which should be given even more respect for. How much harder would it be to bring them down if they did have bigger sized gloves.

may be truse, BUT the glvoes they used back then were smaller and made from different materials then modern gloves, todays gloves are padded much better

Willard beat Jack Johnson, then Dempsey nearly killed Willard. Seems pretty clear that Dempsey would win.

The power of Dempsey's punch has always been compared to that of Mike Tyson's. Lewis would be a good match but Dempsey would still have a decent shot.

Of course his head isn't literally made out of concrete. I'm just surprised he wasn't KO'ed right away. I also knew that Willard was terribly beat up, what with his teeth on the mat and broken bones, before I commented.You replied to my comment in an odd way. You imply that I just ignorantly commented about the fight, when I was just being animated in the way I described Willard's determination. Also, his head was "obviously" not damaged AFTER the fight. Your wording.
