I'm a single child-free by choice woman who makes $200K. I voted for Obama, although I risk higher taxes. I have many collegues in this income range... and NONE of us create jobs. Most people in my income range are higher level executives at large corporations - not small business people. For a small business person an income like mine is something they dream about... not something that's likely to happen.

Single Payer health care system....no thanks

All you Obama haters will be whining like little bitches November fifth. Get over yourselves, the spin stops soon.

I agree, I support Obama also, and am in a business which makes over $250,000 a year. I have a number of associates who are business persons which employee a number of people. There is a difference between people who make money off of bets in the stock market, or have money from family, or are investment bankers, etc.

Brelfan I hate to break it to you but... "rich guys" who earn over $250,000 DO create jobs--its called a small business. My dad owns one and he employs several people. I'm not really trying to argue with you though-- I am an Obama supporter-- I just wanted to make sure you realized that you're incorrect
brelfan (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Are there any studies about how many rich people create jobs in the US? A rich guy earning over $250,000 a year is NOT the same thing as a corporation. The rich guy has to take his OWN money and start a business. Some rich guys do. But since the Republicans are all about preserving rich mens' wealth, how many rich guys create US jobs? Seems like the bailout. Throw money at rich folks and hope for the best. JP Morgan intends to use $25bn for the US to buy companies. NOT to free funds for lending.

One rich person's spending will never employ as many people as 1000 middle class people spending. There's only so much food one rich person can eat, only so much clothes they can wear.

Anyway, everybody in this election is full of crap about tax cuts. Both McCain and Obama were for the bailout, at odds with their constituents. I understand credit's got to roll but this is a bailout for people with stocks like McCain, Obama and Bush. Not much about "Joe Sixpack." Nor me. Still I'm for Obama. The ideology of the Republicans is obnoxious.
brelfan (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
What a Democrat may not like about the Republican tax cuts, make sure the wealthy pay less than the middle class, is that the wealthy spend their money ANYWHERE. In whatever country they like. Some percentage of the wealthy will create jobs in the US. What percentage, does anybody know? I know CORPORATIONS... that is not the same thing as some wealthy CEO... like creating jobs in CHINA and INDIA. The MIDDLE CLASS spend money in the US. Let's try TRICKLE UP!

So making sure Americans have affordable health care, the wealthy don't crumble us w/ their spending power, & regulating businesses is socialism yet McCain says he wants to "buy up all the bad mortgages" & signs a $700 BILLION blank check & it's "country first"?
