For more information, do a google search under corporate election; Karl Barths view on election. It is also known as Christological election. Also read 'Elect in the Son' by Robert Shank. This view does not deny Gods sovereignty, answers clear scriptures, and is not depressing like this limited atonement concept.

**TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE TIRED OF THIS UNENDING CALVINIST/ARMINIAN DEBATE** -Yes, predestination is a scriptural concept. But there is a third (often overlooked) view on what form it takes. It is called CORPORATE election. It is not just some nutty idea with no credibility, but has been espoused by many theologians -most notably Karl Barth. WE-the church - are elect IN CHRIST. Eph.1:4 Christ is the only one identified as the elected one.Isa.42:1;Luke 9:35. I wish this view would get more 'airplay'

So when you witness to someone you only ever say "Jesus died for sinners" or "Jesus died for me"? And when someone responds "are you saying Jesus died for me?" what do you then say?

SOMEONE HAD ASK ME, AND I THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD ?, IF GOD ONLY DIED FOR THE ELECT, THE PREDESTINED PEOPLE, THEN COULD NOT THE NON ELECT SAY THAT WAS NOT FARE OR I DID NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO MAKE IT WHEN YOU NEVER DIED FOR ME, WHAT CHANCE DID I HAVE WHEN MY SINS WHERE NEVER PAID FOR, COULD THEY NOT SAY THIS ON JUDGMENT DAY, WHATS YOUR THOUGHT ON THIS ?. "You can't tell any man that Christ died for him and be honest because he may not be elect." - on my way back from taking my daughter to school today I was thinkng exactly the same thing."Can you provide one example from Scripture where an apostle or anyone else says, "Christ died for you?" I see where they say, "Christ died for sinners" and "Christ died for me", but can you provide one verse where the apostles go to an unbeliever and say, "Christ died for you"?

Right on, KJ man! Dead really means seperated from God by sin. That's what Adam experienced yet GOD brought him the salvation message while he was "dead". He was saved by that message and it still works today on "dead" people.Then God PURSUED Cain, trying to get him to believe. KingJamesVideoMan makes a very valid point when he says:- "You can't tell any man that Christ died for him and be honest because he may not be elect." - on my way back from taking my daughter to school today I was thinkng exactly the same thing.If Calvinism is another name for Christianity / the Gospel then this aspect that salvation is not open to all has to be made clear wherever the gospel is preached otherwise it is dishonest. How do you know you're one of the elect Lane?
