We had a guy in our detachment in Iraq we called Fredo. He came into the Army into a Special Operations MOS. But he fucked up and was destined to be office bitch and a damn Fobbit. He was one of the few in the det that made rank. He made E-6. He wanted respect. But he was stupid and weak. He thought he was smart. That he was a hero. But he was just a scared little bitch. Two tours in Iraq mostly spent in air conditioned offices never making contact with the enemy...Just listened to FoxNews..

He knew he was going against his brother and thus against his family. So deserved to get Mouse and Men'ed in the lake. he had it pretty good. Sure he only ran MIckey Mouse clubs here and there but it was a nice easy life. After all remember, "He was banging cocktail waitresses two at a time!!!" Just like Lucy from I Love Lucy. He was juats a fucking pain in the ass and life was better without him. Rick should have killed Lucy too. Fuck the bitch!

Maybe you meant something different such as the remourse that must have tormented Michael over killing Fredo. But you said "Everyone knew that Fredo was stupid, but he would never let his family get killed". You may want to watch the trilogy over again. because Fredo did exactly that. He juggled a pistol and droped it while his father was murdered then instead of evacuating him just sat on the side walk while his old man died. Fredo, was stupid and his weak. He stabbed his brother in the back.

The biggest mistake of Michael was judging his brother. Everyone knew that Fredo was stupid, but he would never let his family get killed. I still have no clue why Michael killed him, maybe he thought that Fredo's stupidity will bring more problems in the future?. Anyway I like that Puzzio and Coppola brought the regrets of Fredo's death to the life of Michael, in GF 3 we can see his struggle until his death. Remember what was his last words, that says it all. Michael was a fail as a Godfather.
